We are seeking a dedicated Wound Care Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing specialized care to patients with wounds, injuries, or post-surgical incisions. This role plays a crucial part in promoting healing and preventing infections.
Duties
- Assessing and treating various types of wounds such as pressure ulcers, surgical wounds, and diabetic ulcers
- Developing and implementing individualised wound care plans
- Monitoring and documenting wound healing progress
- Educating patients and their families on wound care techniques and prevention strategies
- Collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care
- Performing wound care procedures such as dressing changes, debridement, and infection control measures
- Proficiency in medical documentation and record-keeping
- Strong knowledge of medical-surgical nursing practices
- Experience in ventilator management for patients with complex wounds
- Ability to provide trauma medicine interventions when necessary
- Knowledge of infection control protocols to prevent wound-related complications
- Familiarity with discharge planning procedures for transitioning patients to home or nursing home care
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
