NTNP Dinner Meeting Attendance & Etiquette

Posted about 6 years ago

As a friendly reminder, NTNP has nearly 800 members.  Although we cannot accommodate all our members at each dinner meeting, others are unable to attend as a result of the actions listed below:

  • Members brought their family (child or spouse) to a meeting
  • Members brought a non-member (colleague) to the dinner meeting
  • Members attended the meeting without being registered for the meeting

Additionally, the feedback has been provided to the NTNP Board regarding members being disrespectful by talking throughout the dinner, sometimes making it difficult for the speaker to perform their presentations

Due to these activities, the NTNP Board would like to remind our members of our bylaws defined membership and the etiquette expected during dinner meetings.

Membership

  • NTNP membership is for NPs and students pursuing NP degrees.  RNs, who are not pursuing an NP degree, and other professionals are not included in our membership and therefore won't be able to attend future meetings.

Dinner Meeting Attendance & Etiquette

  • Attendance at meetings is based on an RSVP system on our website. It is first-come, first-serve.  There is a waiting list that will put people onto the attendance list as others remove themselves.
  • Attendance at meetings, beginning with Tuesday's meeting and all future meetings, will be verified. You must sign in before entering the dinner.  Those not registered and unable to produce proof of registration (printout/email proof) will be asked to wait until all others have checked in before allowed entrance.  Preference will be given to those listed on the waiting list and by their order on the list.
  • Attendees are limited to saving 1 seat for a friend, not multiple seats at a table. All seats that are empty at the beginning of the meeting are open for anyone to fill.
  • No one will be admitted to the meeting after 7:15 pm. This interrupts the speaker and causes difficulty for the wait staff.
  • We ask that all attendees be respectful of our guest speakers and sponsors by keeping any conversations during presentations at a minimum.
