Join us for a full day of Board Development and Leadership Training

The responsibilities of serving on a board or in a leadership capacity has increased. As a result, TNP is pleased to provide an opportunity for board development to our local affiliates as well as any NP who is interested in leadership positions in the future. This one-day leadership session will be held at the Embassy Suites in San Marcos, Texas (near the large outlet mall). We hope that many members will take advantage of this program and use this opportunity to network with other affiliates and develop future leaders for their association.

Agenda

9:00 - 10:00 a.m. - Board of Governance
This session will discuss the responsibilities of a board and board members in a non-profit association as well as how to function effectively.

10:00-10:15 a.m. - Break

10:15 - 11:15 a.m. - TNP's Grassroots & Legislative Plan
This session will provide information about TNP's Grassroots efforts, impact of SB406 and future legislative plans.

11:15 - 12:15 p.m. - Association Finance 101
This session will review important fiscal do and don'ts for associations.

12:15 - 1:15 p.m. - Lunch

1:15 - 1:45 p.m. - TNP Benefit/Program Review
This session will discuss the many benefits of TNP membership.

1:45 - 2:00 p.m. - Break

2:00 - 3:00 p.m. - Leadership Development
This session will discuss how to develop current and future leaders.

3:15 - 4:45 p.m. - NP Malpractice Claims and Risk Management
The session will provide educational information relating to nurse practitioner liability claims.

5:00 - 6:00 p.m. - Networking Reception

Early registration is available through December 13, 2013. The price of registration is $99.00. Registration will remain available online through January 7, 2014 at a price of $125.00.

Continuing Education:

This program will be submitted for continuing education through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
