Philanthropy Grants and Thanksgiving!

Posted over 8 years ago by Elizabeth Farren

The Philanthropy Committee, Sara Wick and Beth Farren, is thankful to announce this year's recipients of our NTNP Grants. Recipients are:

UT Southwestern Epilepsy Program has received grant money which will provide medication alarm boxes for epilepsy patients who have memory issues and could easily forget a critical dose of medication. Additional funds will provide small ammenities for support and education group meetings and transportation vouchers for those in need so that all can attend these meetings. This grant was written by Mona Cheung, our treasurer and Nurse Practitioner for the program.

Frisco Student Fastpacs has received funds to purchase a laptop and software to enable and ease administrative work r/t the organization's charitable outreach. This non-profit organization provides "pacs" of meals for needy children in Frisco who otherwise would have little to no healthy meals over a weekend. The grant was initiated after our Peggy Ostrander alerted the Fastpac volunteers to the existence of our grant.

The Thanksgiving part for us is knowing that such good work is being done and that through our philanthropy, we share in these blessings. Be proud, North Texas Nurse Practitioners!
